Mit Bestürzung habe ich von der traurigen Nachricht erfahren, dass mein Doktorvater, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Weckesser, von uns gegangen ist. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Weckesser war ein hervorragender Wissenschaftler und mein großes Vorbild in der Lehre und Wissenschaft der mikrobiologischen Forschung. Dank seiner Vorbildfunktion konnte ich selbst in der mikrobiologischen Forschung und der Lehre für Mikrobiologie sehr viel für die Wissenschaft leisten und bewirken. Ich werde ihn nie vergessen und ihm immer ein ehrendes Andenken bewahren.
